It’s Important To Have Good Health At Any Time. Think About It – When We’re Sick, That’s All That Matters. We Can’t Enjoy Life Or Think Much About Anything Else.
And now more than ever, maintaining a robust immune system is essential to staying healthy.
What does that have to do with a healthy home, much less laundry?
A lot, as it turns out. Removing exposure to toxins can go a long way towards staying healthy. One of the best places to start cleaning up, so to speak, is in the home, and what better place to begin than the laundry room?
Ingredients
Many laundry products still contain harmful ingredients. Whether you do your laundry on a daily or weekly basis, think about the exposure you are getting to those ingredients. Read your labels.
Laundry Detergent
Some of the worst ingredients come in one lovely word, fragrance. Of course, manufacturers want their products to smell good so that consumers will buy them. However, fragrances are formulated with chemical ingredients that manufacturers don’t have to disclose. Scents are physical particles that enter our bodies when we breathe them in. That means that those nasty chemicals are entering your system, and your body will have to fight them off.
Choose an all-natural, fragrance-free laundry detergent and protect your immune system. Thankfully, there are several safe products from which to choose.
So, just as clothing needs to be cleaned regularly, your washing machine does, too.
Washing Machine
The washing machine is the perfect place to harbor and breed germs and bacteria, mold, and mildew, none of which are healthy for you to inhale. To remove and prevent harmful growth, give your washing machine a good cleaning regularly. Here, too, choose a product that is free from toxic chemicals.
Another great benefit of keeping your washing machine clean and germ-free is that your clothes will get cleaner, too.
Now, let’s move over to the dryer.
Dryer Sheets
Are you still using dryer sheets to soften your clothes, remove static cling, and make them smell good?
Let’s think about it. Dryer sheets add softness to your laundry by allowing the chemicals on the sheets to rub off onto your clothing and then onto your skin. We’ve already talked about the dangers of fragrance, and they are also in dryer sheets.
And do they really remove static cling? I’ll let you answer that one.
Dryer
Thanks to those dryer sheets, the inside of your dryer will need regular cleaning, too, due to the residue it leaves everywhere. Wipe it down monthly after misting with a gentle cleaning solution such as equal parts vinegar and water, and then leave the door open to dry.
Dryer Balls
Dryer balls are a much better option for several reasons.
