Psst... The Secret To Having
Your House Smell Amazing

Sometimes our houses just stink. It is a sad reality, but it is something we all have to deal with. You do not have to live with it, though! There are a few things you can do to clean things up and make everything smell better. Here are a few tips to make your house smell fresh and clean!

Step Outside

Sometimes your house can stink without you even knowing. We get used to the smells and air inside our homes, and when someone walks in the front door, things might smell, well… a bit funky. That is super embarrassing, especially if you have no idea they are smelling last night’s leftovers and the three dirty diapers in your trash can. So while you are cleaning, step outside for a few minutes and get some fresh air. It is good for you, and when you walk back in, you will be less used to the smells in your house and more able to identify and eradicate the smelly culprits.

Keep Your Washing Machine Clean

A lot of people forget that a washing machine can make their home smell pretty bad, and it can actually be a health hazard if your washer is moldy. It is important to learn how to clean your washing machine properly, and to clean it at least once a month. It can be as easy as just popping in a washing machine cleaning tablet. That’s right! Using cleaning tablets can help you eliminate anything that might be causing an odor in your washer. Cleaning tablets even clean the spots that you might not see and be able to get to.

Air out your house

If you are not airing out your house daily, it might be getting a bit stuffy. Fresh air is good for you, and it can do wonders for the smell of your home. So be sure to open a few windows and doors every day and let in a little fresh air for a few minutes.

Use Air Purifying bags

Have you heard of an air purifying bag? If you have not, your dark, stuffy closet will thank us! Air purifying bags help eliminate moisture and mildew. They leave rooms smelling fresh and ready to go without much work at all.

Clean your sink daily

This may seem like a no-brainer, but when was the last time you deep cleaned your sink? Your sink can be a receptacle for everything from raw chicken juices to dirt from your child’s soccer jersey that you are soaking. It is a place set aside for cleaning stuff, but sometimes doesn’t get a lot of cleaning love itself. Every night when you finish using your sink, make sure you clean it. All that dirty gunk can build up, can look bad, and can smell worse. All you need to use is soap and hot water, and your kitchen and laundry room will smell way better than it ever has.
